Biography
Devina Lobine is biotechnologist and pharmacologist. From 2019 to 2021, she
was a post- doctoral research fellow at the University of Mauritius, investigating Mauritian medicinal plants to manage Alzheimer’s disease. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Agricultural Biotechnology and a PhD in Natural Products. She has several years of practical and applied experience in various fields of life sciences and has delivered several impactful communications. She is passionate about youth empowerment, as they are the drivers of the future. In her roles as Youth Ambassador of Southern Africa Network for Biosciences (SANBio) and a Fellow of Africa Science Leadership Programme, she is actively engaged in promoting STEM and fostering bio-innovation in young mind.
She is the winner of 11th edition Sub-Saharan Africa Young Talents- L'Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science Award. She is Next Einstein Forum Ambassador in Mauritius.
