Carole Mbessa Elongo, the Cameroonian’s multi-hatted entrepreneur


Carole Mbessa Elongo is a Cameroonian serial entrepreneur, involved in a variety of fields, including mining, energy, transport, logistics and business events… In 2024, she received the Exceptional Women of Excellence Award from the Women Economic Forum (WEF).

Carole Mbessa Elongo is an entrepreneur, but she is also committed to supporting young women and developing their potential. In 2014, after 20 years in Nantes, France, where she spent most of her professional career, she returned to her homeland, Cameroon. That same year, she set up CM, a strategy and training consultancy, with which she supports the Cameroonian government in a number of structuring projects. In 2015, she simultaneously co-founded two companies, ME Multimedia Solutions SA, specialising in the development of digital solutions, and Business Facilities Corporation SA, a group operating in various strategic sectors, including mining, weighing, energy, oil and gas, with subsidiaries in Congo Brazzaville, of which she is Deputy Managing Director. She is now President of Douala Port Weighing Services, a subsidiary of the group, which operates, develops and maintains weighing equipment at the Port of Douala-Bonabéri.

In 2019, she was chosen by the Cameroonian government to manage the Cameroon Business Forum (CBF) organized by Cameroon’s first Ministry, with the aim of making it a benchmark event. She also became the Promoter of Pro Meet Up and Learn (PML), a sub-regional platform for exchange, reflection and business sharing, which brings together each year business leaders and institutions to discuss issues relating to African economic leadership. The event is now in its 4th year. She was also appointed a member of the Board of Directors of the National Higher Polytechnic School of Yaoundé in 2020.

Committed to women’s leadership

Apart from being an entrepreneur, Carole Mbessa Elongo is committed to women’s leadership. In 2018, she joined the Africa CEO Forum’s Women Working for Change Network. Since 2020, she has also chaired the international B. Lead’her in Cameroon and Congo. As part of her missions, in 2023 she launched the B. Lead’her Network & Academy, committed to building the capacities of young girls and women to enable them to meet new challenges, particularly in the context of the integration and consolidation of Africa with the FTAA. She is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Global Chair of the 100 Most Influential Women in the World, as “Advisory Member Migrants & Refugees Resettlement”. In 2024, in recognition of her inspiring career, the Women Economic Forum (WEF) granted her the Exceptional Women of Excellence Award at the Harvard Club in New York.
