Netoua Ernestine, promoter of the Chadian cultural scene

Netoua Ernestine is a cultural entrepreneur, committed to developing the music scene in her country, Chad, through the Koura Gosso Festival that she initiated 8 years ago. It is an artistic event that showcases budding musicians, urban music and hip-hop culture, and which was recently held in the city of Mountou in Chad.

Netoua Ernestine is working to promote the Chadian cultural scene, but also female entrepreneurship. This graduate in administration and business management began her career as an assistant biologist at the Renaissance Hospital in N’Djamena. Five years later, she decided to create her own company, Netoua-Services, which offers services to individuals and organizations in various fields.

At the same time, she founded the Association Femme Aussi (AFEMA), a cultural organization promoting women’s art and entrepreneurship. In 2017, the association initiated the Koura Gosso Festival, with the aim of facilitating exchanges between budding musicians, cultural promoters and journalists. The event, which is organized each year in the economic capital Mountou, is intended to be a space for professionals in the cultural and creative industries in Chad, as well as the general public. It contributes, in particular, to developing the Chadian music market, but also to discovering new talents.

Every year, the festival welcomes Chadian and African artists for urban and hip-hop music concerts. It also offers trainings for young people. This year, it held its 8th edition from October 21 to 28 under the theme “Youth and creativity, acting today for tomorrow”. The event was marked, in particular, by the launch of the Network of Young Entrepreneurs and Cultural Project Leaders of Central Africa (RJEPCAC), bringing together young cultural entrepreneurs from different Central African countries.

Netoua Ernestine is committed to promoting women’s rights. She is the promoter of Woman Entrepreneurship Days Fair, as well as Woman Music’Art, dedicated to female digital and cultural entrepreneurship. Since 2022, she has also been the director of the promotion of early childhood support structures at the Ministry of Gender and National Solidarity in Chad.
