The Forum, which aims to be a Global gathering for Gender Equality, took stock of progress and launched a global action plan to accelerate gender equality by 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>To achieve concrete results in terms of gender equality by 2030, the Generation Equality forum is launching a five-year program funded to the tune of 40 billion dollars.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This global acceleration plan consists of &#8220;action coalitions&#8221; between governments, organizations, feminist groups, which take into account six essential issues that underpin equality between women and men\u00a0:\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Gender-based violence<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Increase the ratification by States and regional actors of conventions and the adoption of policies aimed at putting an end to gender-based violence<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Increase funding for prevention strategies<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u00a0Strengthen support services for victims of gender-based violence<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Increase funding for women&#8217;s rights organizations and movements by 50%<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Economic justice and economic rights<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Invest 3-10% of national income and create up to 80 million decent jobs in care<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Reduce the number of working women living in poverty by 17 million by 2026.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Reduce the number of women and girls living in poverty by 85 million<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Bodily autonomy and sexual and reproductive health and rights<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Increase delivery of comprehensive sexuality education in and out of school, reaching 50 million additional children, adolescents and young people.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Improve the quality of contraceptive services and access to these services for 50 million women<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Feminist action for climate justice<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Increase the proportion of bilateral climate finance earmarked for gender equality to 88%.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Increase the use of gender- environment statistics for policy making in 20 countries<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Technology and innovation for gender equality<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Reduce by half the gender digital divide<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Increase investment in women&#8217;s technology and innovation by 50%.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Double the proportion of women working in technology and innovation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Femnist movements and leadership<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Double the rate of funding from all sectors committed to movements, organisations led by women, girls and feminists.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; From June 30 to July 2, 2021, UN Women organized the 2nd phase of the Generation Equality Forum, co-chaired by France and Mexico, after the first phase held from March 29 to 31, 2021.
